"Ki Aikido Institute" is the course for becoming an instructor of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, which has 2 years continuous program. You can learn the fundamental of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido such as Ki Principles, Hitori-waza, Kumi-waza, Tsuzuki-waza by Shinichi Tohei Sensei and other instructors Ki Society H.Q. Also you can learn Ki Principles through Japanese culture such as Calligraphy and Tea Ceremony. Since 2013, students can start learning from April or September. During the term of two years, you can attend seminars (except seminars of Kiatsuho and Ki no Shoho) conducted in Ki Society H.Q. without extra fees.

Message of Instructors

指導者育成コース 会長Ki Aikido Institute is the appropriate place for development of instructors. However, this course is not only cultivating instructors of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, but bringing up leaders who can apply Ki Principles to any fields, which means that this course is the foundation of not only Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, but also any other fields such as business, sports, arts, education, nursing care etc. Actually, the motivation of students who enters in this course is various. Nowadays, more than 50,000 people learn Shinshin Toitsu Aikido in Japan, USA, Europe, Russia, Asia and Oceania. There is no border for learning Shinshin Toitsu Aikido. The unique aspect of Ki Aikido Institute is that the program is consisted of Shinshin Toitsu Do, Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, Tea Ceremony and Ki Calligraphy. Through Tea Ceremony and Ki Calligraphy, you can learn Mind and Body coordination from different point of view. The other thing is to learn is cleaning, moral education, communication ability, English and Japanese language etc. The lecturers are many high rank holder of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido such as Yutaka Otsuka Sensei, 9th dan of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, which makes the best environment of learning Shinshin Toitsu Aikido. The graduates of Ki Aikido Institute are vary such as professional Shinshin Toitsu Aikido instructors, doctors and nurses in medial field, teachers in children education and artists. There are many places to learn various things in the world. When people start learning something, they want to be able to do, master what they learn. Then they think how they are able to do the thing, able to master the thing. The main purpose of Ki Aikido Institute is to learn correct way of using mind and body in line with universal principles and apply to anything in daily lives. Any master who accomplish something always use the mind and body correctly in line with universal principles. When learning something, students can accomplish this only with universal mind and moral. Our daily action is visible, as for wood, the piece over surface of earth. In order for the wood to grow properly, we need to feed water and fertilizer and face to sun etc. good environment and manage properly. Teachers of Ki Aikido Institute is the people who grow wood. We also exert ourselves to cultivate universal mind and become one with the universe. There is no age for learning. Please kindly understand the purpose of Ki Aikido Institute and learn and apply the universal principle together.

Curriculum

指導者育成コース01The course is for two years, in the first year, you will learn to "master" and in the second year, you will learn "how to teach". Regardless of age, gender, experience of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido training, anybody can learn from beginner level. Also you can attend the seminars held in Ki Society H.Q. without extra fees.

Enrollmen for Students

Enrollment in April - Course ends in February (after 2 years)
Enrollment in September - Course ends in July (after 2 years)


Entry Requirements

1) 18 years old and above Male or Female with fit health conditions.
2) At least a high school diploma or more (For overseas applicants an understanding of Japanese or English language is required).
3) An interview will be conducted before admission into the school is accepted.
Members of Shin shin Toitsu Aikido must have permission from Chief Instructors/ Instructors of their Dojo before enrolling into the course.

Visit

A visit to the school to view the course and daily classes should be made before enrolling for the course. Location: Shinshin Toitsu Aikido H.Q.
*Prior to application for the visit, members need consent from Head Instructor of the Dojo.
*When decided to enter, you are required to make contract.
*Required Documents : Health Certificate and Certificate of Education level attained.

Shinshin Toitsu Aikido Nidan certificate
Shinshin Toitsudo Shoden Certificate
Shinshin Toitsu Aikido instructor qualification



Fees

1,800,000yen plus tax - For 2 years
1st year - 900,000 yen plus tax
2nd year - remaining 900,000yen plus tax
*First year course fee payment should be made before class term begins. Second year course fees could be made in installments during the 2nd year of attendance of course.
*Payment of course fees will not be refunded once payment has been made in an event off cancellation.
*The tuition fees include fees for seminars conducted at HQ Tochigi, Tokyo and Osaka. (Safety management seminars fees are not included.)
*Ki Society annual fees, Aikido Kyu and Dan Exam fees are not included in the tuition fees. Payment for these have to be made separately.



Other Costs

If you stay in accommodation and have meals, please see as follows: Accommodation: 40,000 yen plus tax Meals : Breakfast 400 yen plus tax, Lunch 500 yen plus tax, Dinner 600 yen plus tax

Aikido Dogi, Hakama, Bokken, Jo and Tanto (wooden weapons for training). Uniform used for tea ceremony, tea ceremony kit (paper, fukusa), sweets served during tea ceremony practice, shodo materials (calligraphy) and books. Payments for all these have to be made separately.

In order to attend the Ki Aikido Institute

Please read and agree with the following before applying.

Before application for the visit, members need consent from Head Instructor of the Dojo if they belong to a dojo.

When visiting and after watching the class, interview will be conducted. When responsible teacher of the course judges he/she is appropriate to attend the course, they can enroll.



Enrollment for Auditing Student

Instructor of Ki Society, graduate of Ki Aikido Institute, graduate of Kiatsuho Instructor Course can be Auditing Student. Auditing Student can attend the any classes and attend seminars held in Ki Society H.Q. in Tochigi, Tokyo and Osaka.

One year from the month you start.



Fees

450,000 plus tax for a year
*Basically the fee should be paid at once but separate installment can be made.
*Payment of course fees will not be refunded once payment has been made in an event off cancellation.
*The tuition fees include fees for seminars conducted at HQ Tochigi, Tokyo and Osaka. (Safety management seminars fees are not included.)

Short Term Auditing Students

Instructors and members of Ki Society outside Japan who are accepted by Head Instructors of their dojos and Ki Society H.Q. can be the Auditing Students for short term.
In this case the tuition fee will be 100,000 yen plus tax per month. Other costs such as accommodation and meals are same as above.

*Please note that the tuition fee of "Short Term Auditing Students" does not include the fees for seminars conducted at HQ Tochigi, Tokyo and Osaka.
